Persian Treasures: Instructions
Persian Treasures is a puzzle game which is played by two players against each other. The players, however, need not play at the same time.
The playing field is covered by seven different types of precious stones. Each stone can be moved with a click of the mouse. The player receives 5 points for every stone removed from the playing field. Stones disappear from the playing field when three or more like stones form a row. The more stones a player removes at once, the more points he/she is awarded.
If a player becomes stuck during the game, not knowing where to make the next move, he/she can get help by clicking on the light bulb. A possible move will be highlighted, however every click on the light bulb costs the player valuable points.
The stones may enter the playing field from any angle during the game. The direction changes every time the player removes four like stones at once. At the start of the game, the stones come from the top of the playing field. It is also possible for the stones to enter
- from the right
- from below
- from the left.
Rules
Persian Treasures is a game for two players, who need not play at the same time. The game works in the same way as Sugar! and Bejeweled.
At the start of the game the playing field is covered with precious stones. The player is able to switch the position of adjacent stones with a click of the mouse. If the player forms a row with three or more of the same stones, the stones will disappear. The remaining stones will then close the gap left behind by sliding across. New stones will enter to ensure that the playing field is covered.
The water jug plays a special role in this puzzle game. If the player manages to line up four or more like stones, a water jug appears. The jug displays a number (from 3 to 1), which counts down with every successive successful move made by the player. When the countdown reaches 0 the jug explodes and destroys the precious stones around it. For every stone destroyed, the player receives extra points.
The game is over once the player has no more moves available, or once the playing field has been completely cleared of stones. The number of stones is limited. Once they have all entered the playing field, no further stones will be generated.
Points
The player is awarded 5 points for every stone removed from the playing field. Therefore, if a player forms a row of three like stones, he/she receives 15 points.
If the player sets off a chain reaction, each stone removed is worth 5 points, which accumulates with every set of stones. The first group of three is worth 15 points, the second group 30 points and so on.
For every stone destroyed by an exploding jug the player is awarded 20 points. A click on the light bulb costs the player 50 points.
